Dr Darendeliler is Professor and Chair of Orthodontics at the University of Sydney and Head of Department at the Sydney Dental Hospital. He undertook his training in dentistry at the University of Istanbul and received his PhD from the University of Gazi in Turkey. Dr. Darendeliler completed his specialty training in Orthodontics at the University of Geneva, and is certified by the Higher Education Council of Turkey. During the course of his career he has been a clinical instructor and a research and postgraduate coordinator (Maître d’Assisstant et de Recherche) at the University of Geneva, an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina, and a Research Professor at the University of Southern California. His research interests include orthodontic tooth movement, root resorption, obstructive sleep apnoea, temporary anchorage devices, sequential aligners, self-ligating brackets, orthopedic treatment modalities, magnetic fields and forces and dentofacial orthopedics. He has lectured in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia
